After serving over 175,000 adult language learners, we have heard time and time again that once you complete the IMMERSE tutorials (how to move avatar, navigate curriculum, etc.) it is as easy to use as Zoom. We have pioneered VR language learning, but we've also made it easy to use for admins and learners alike.

IMMERSE is the only company that provides a fully immersive VR language learning experience accessible via desktop or Meta Quest VR headset. We leverage real-time 3D technology and AI to create engaging educational environments grounded in embodied, social, and experiential learning, enabling adult learners to rapidly develop practical foreign language communication skills in over 40 contextualized scenarios, such as job interviews, client communication, or international team collaboration.

Learners first take a placement test to identify which level to start with. Then once 80% of lessons within a level have been completed, learners are nudged to take an assessment to determine whether they are ready to level up. If a learner scores and 80% or higher, they can move on, if not, they are prompted to stay in their current level and continue working on the skills they need to practice the most.

IMMERSE offers Levels 1 (pre A1), Level 2 (A1), Level 3 (A2), Level 4 (B1), and Level 5 (B2). Each level correlates to the CEFR scale, the Global Scale of English, and the ACTFL Proficiency Guidelines. Within each level, you are exposed to a wide variety of language functions which allow you to complete communicative tasks. Functions include making requests, describing, apologizing, negotiating and more. It is the communicative task that drives learning. Between levels, the skills and structures are spiraled, meaning that you will encounter the same functions in various levels, but it will build in complexity over time.

Immerse's methodology is rooted in the principles of communicative language teaching (CLT), prioritizing authentic communication and real-world use. Each lesson is designed around a specific communicative task, ensuring that learners are actively engaged in meaningful language practice.

Following a backwards design approach, we begin by identifying the desired communicative outcome. This enables us to carefully select the language and structures that are essential for achieving this goal. The lesson is then structured to scaffold the learning process, starting with receptive activities to expose learners to the target language and building towards productive practice.
